Hello!
Welcome to my blog!
If you are visiting the 'About me' page I guess you want to know more about the author of this blog (kind of obvious...)
So, here we go:
I am Per Holbo and live in Denmark with my wife and 4 children - two boys and two girls aged 7, 9, 11 and 13 (at least since last I checked)
I write books for children and books for parents. You can click the links to some of my books over there --->
My background for writing this blog is that two of my children have special needs. One has ADHD and one has light autism. Added to this I have ADHD myself and as all these things come together I have insight in raising children in a challenged environment.
I am educated as a Bachelor in History and Political Science and have for many years been working with children and adults with special needs such as autism, ADHD, OCD and more.
My pedagogical view is that of Gentle Teaching (Minding broken hearts) as presented by Prof. John McGee, Nebraska, in the European version.
Very simple put Gentle Teaching is the notion that 'Relationships are built with positive expectation each situation starting with a blank sheet' - though this is VERY simple put!
My mission on this blog is to provide my readers with practical tools and mind sets that can help parents raising their children to be self aware, strong of mind and have a positive mind set toward other people.
A blank sheet used to be my worst enemy! As a writer. As a student or young woman, a blank sheet made me contrary and rebel.Trust me it helped me build my skills in deception. Ha.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment and sorry it took me so long getting to it...
I don´t know if there is a language issue here... What I mean is that when dealing with people forgetting tresspasses from the past is a very good way of building a strong relationship...
